This film follows a group of kayakers as they attempt to paddle six different rivers, from the sources high in the mountains, to where they meet the Pacific Ocean. These 6 rivers, the Eel, Van Duzen, Mad, Trinity, Klamath and Smith, are the main waterways within the Six Rivers National Forest in Northern California. The film follows the team as they explore and document these awe inspiring places.

2012 NOC Shootout Wrap Up

The weather was grim but that didn’t dampen the spirits of over 50 competitors and their families.
Saturday morning commenced with heavy down pour and chilling winds. This just brought people closer together as they watched under tents and tarps huddled closely together. The judging system was a new computer system that was developed for the World Championships which will be held at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in 2013. That wasn’t the only new exciting thing, the feature, had just been finished on the Wednesday prior to the event and although it was an epic feature providing scores well over the thousands, it still has minor modifications to go!
Everyone was on a fair playing ground as there was no local advantage. All locals jumped out for the chance to paddle on their new home spot and the Men’s Expert class was one of the largest classes we had seen during the day.

Winter Kayaking Recap

Hope you’re enjoying the spring! We just got our first extended period of nice weather here in Hood River, OR
Winter in the Northwest is usually characterized by gray skies, a relentless drizzle, cold moist air, and seasonal affective disorder. Luckily these conditions are like a sweet symphony to a whitewater kayakers ears. Here’s a quick look at some of my kayaking adventures from this winter. January started off with a pretty intense storm that left a lot of water in my hometown run, the Hood River. February was a period of chasing some waterfalls. And March meant extended daylight hours and the start to my favorite season of all! Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for my next video from Spring!
