I grew up West Palm Beach, FL. So Ice fishing is not my knowledge Base. We lived on the Indiana River and only fished at the docks where the Sport Fishing docked each night. When I was about 9 years old my Father and I started freshwater fishing too. We always cared a cooler in the boat, 12 alumicraft with 7.5 hp Johnson, to keep drinks and bait. The ice was a block about 25 lbs and it took most of the room. When we caught one that we would keep, it went into the cooler. When we returned home he would dump the cooler in the grass and we would start cleaning the fish. This happened for a long time until we got delayed by a friend and I noticed that the fish where flopping around and the gill action had returned. My Dad said that we had frozen our fish and cleaned them before they could thaw. That is my Florida Ice Fishing story.
