Are you an extreme kayaker or like to get out and enjoy the scenery?

The creeks around here are set for enjoyment. But there are times after a storm when the waters up makes it a bit more fun

Captian….. there are few things in this world I love more then paddleing on a beautiful river or lake. Nature unfolds a feast for the sences. But I must admit…. I get a thrill when I watch extreme kayakers, I plan on being one in my next life.

I too plan on being able to hurl myself off a cliff, down a waterfall and land upright in a kayak my next life! For now I really enjoy the great workout you can get paddling while taking in some gorgeous scenery. I have done some white water rafting, but always with a guide and a group of other people – and I must say, you can get quite a rush from going down the class V rapids of the Penobscot River in Maine. Have you ever tried white water rafting?

Not yet…. I am working my way up. White caps on a big lake is about it. I am not afraid of the water….just rocks ,and pointy things, logs, strainers, whirlpools to davy jones locker. Do you recommend white water rafting to encourage daring ?

    Sea kayaking in Alaska.

I spend my summers in Kenai and we’re equidistant between Kachamak Bay, Prince William Sound, and Seward; three of the most spectacular kayaking destinations in North America. If anyone’s making it up here this summer, let me know. We can show you around.

  • Kevin Barnett,

How long have you gone up to spend your summers (years). I lived there for four years in Anchorage, and want to make a trip up there again. Spent some time in Seward and lots of other places off and on. Want to do some kayaking there again one day.

Hello. I enjoy the scenery. Speed doesn’t do anything for me. I’ll get out on the sea but only as a way to get to an island or something pretty. My yak isn’t very sea worthy either but it seems to do much better than it’s supposed to. :-) I live in Florida on the mid western coast where it’s called The Nature Coast. SO many rivers and outlets to explore. I’m like a kid in a candy factory. So many beautiful places here in Florida.
