A place for sailors to meet new people and share their passion for sailing.
I was just driving behind a beautiful Sailboat (on a trailer, being brought to storage – so sad!), but it had the name “Destiny” on it & I followed it for a few miles. Such a great name! What did you name your boat?

My husband got me a sailboat for my 55th birthday, and I was born in 1955. Hence the name.
I’ve named my 25 mcgregor swing keel sailboat after my mother that passed away in 2001 from breast cancer..connie jo…..hope to get it painted before it goes in the water this spring.I got a great deal on the 1973 boat and I’ve been sailing and restoring it .
We named our North American Spirit 25 “Good Direction”
I have de-named my 1989 Hunter 30 and will likely re-name it “CERES” this coming spring. The name has astronomical, literary, and mythological significance to me
I just purchased my Pearson 26 this summer and have to de-name her. Curious, did everyone go through the ritual with King Neptune, etc?? Many have told me its bad luck unless you go through it.
My Metalmast 30 is named Timberwolf. Will be changing name to Noelle, my 4 yr old daughters name.
Two years ago we bought a Hunter 30 named Second Chance. We re-named it Endymion.
Our boat is a “Sarabande” 33, built in France in ’85. She’s an IOR type sloop with excellent accommodations and she sails great! My wife teaches ballet, and most of the steps have French names. So, she chose Glissé for the boat’s name. It is a gliding step in ballet, and of course Glissé glides across the water. It also gives my wife a sense of ownership!
Tirak (sweetheart- in Thai) She is a part of me or is it, I’m a part of her.
X*TA*SEA, a Hunter 260. My wife says thats where I’m at when I’m sailing!
