@fb100000944548853 ”Glory”, The new Glory, my long time friend Captain Starz, has done more than a great job in creating the super ship. new lines and rigging, new color and even a new smell bled off the ship 24/7. And how about the crew have they any reason to die for the Glory. Some much technology, will the crew relax thinking that the ship will take care of them and protect them from resolution?
As Capt Jolly thought about this fact his uncles word came to his mind. The sword does not save your life but the person that controls sword that will keep you from the harm of the blade. And yet another point to ponder is the crew is really three crew. How do ya have the crew to act as one ?
Captain Jolly douses all light and goes the double portal and open them wide and before him is the beautiful open ocean as inviting as mother’s arms. Jolly steps to the sill and sets down to think.
The Spanish galleon Buitre Roto rode a stiff wind out of the east and a following sea, all sails full. Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio made certain the course was correctly set for his rendezvous, knowing that his adversaries on the wallowing Glory would be heading directly toward where they suspected him to be. “Hah,” he interjected; “HAH! Those American dullards, those American swine. I **** in their general direction. They have no clue what they are up against — they have no clue WHO they are up against. Me, Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio, the premier captain of the entire Spanish Navy, the premier navy of all the world, the world that is Espania, yes, THAT world. HAH! Those termites, those cockroaches, those bugs from America. They have undoubtedly taken the bait and are coming after me, going to where they THINK I am. Little do they know that I am not where I am, but here, which is not were I was and they think I am, or used to be, but will not be, for I will be somewhere else, entirely, and not there. HAH! AND, the plans I set in motion all those months ago shall come together and I, I, Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio, shall crush them! No matter how many stupid songs they sing.” “I’m sorry, my captain,” said Numero Uno, standing beside him, “but, did you say something?”
On the fantail, Starz sees the windows of the Captain’s quarters swing open. He knows Jolly is sitting on the sill contemplating discipline aboard his ship and drinking in the view of mother sea. 4 Bells rings out as the sun begins to light up the sky. Starz bellows out,,,,, LOOKOUTS ALOFT, TAKE THE SPY GLASSES TO THE HORIZONS AND FIND ME MY SPANISH PRIZE! Glory still under full sail on day 2 of her maiden voyage Starz orders the gun deck crews to keep the powder dry and pack the canons with faughter,,,,, NO MISFIRES ALLOWED! me hearties seal the fuses with wax fore I will have no wet powder ruining my shots,,,, The crew more afraid of Starz than disciplined follows his commands as if it were Jolly’s fore they know he will not spare the lash of the nine tails if they don’t. Starz returns to the command deck above the helm looking over the fighting deck he whips out his glass and scans the horizon for his prey,,,,,

“Where are your buccaneers?” Tabby asked Ol-Flynn. “Under my buccanhat,” replied Ol-Flynn, with an impish grin that raised his line of mustache ever so roguishly.
The Buccaneers at anchor,,,,

The required number of days have passed. Glory is somewhere in the mid-Atlantic, where her crew are drinking rum and singing bawdy songs, oblivious to the reality that awaits them. Meanwhile, at a safe anchorage on the west coast of the Island of Barbados, the Buitre Roto has anchored with the squadron of Irish buccaneer ships, a meeting set up a month ago by the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-ego Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio. At this moment, the captains of the other six vessels have come aboard the Roto for a conference.
Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio strode across his cabin to greet the first among them, the buccaneer Err Ol’Flynn, a half-Spanish-half-irish ******* buccaneer with no love for the English or their allies, the Americans.
At 8 Bells during the afternoon watch a sail is sighted to the north of Glory. ”Sail HO” shouts aloft and Starz trains his eye off the port quarter,,,, Oh chit, it is the Moken on way with half the Britsh northern fleet on his tail, but what is this they are sailing with her and not attacking her…. Captain Jolly ON DECK if you please sir, What in Posidens name do you make of this Jolly sir? Starz passes him the glass trained on the northern fleet,,,,Jolly reads the comunique in flags on the Moken,,,,, Hold your fire Glory we carry news of the Roto,,,, and the plot thickens as enemies of our enemy becomes our friends,,, the story continues,,,,,,
WHAT in the blue devil of the seven seas is Zenkayaker up to, has he traitored us out? I say ready the secret weapon sir and I will go parlay under a white flag in one Corsair, ready her spinnaker for a fast getaway if it turns foul sir and bring you the news that way we will not commit our fleet to the deep. Jolly draws his signiture deep breath as his anger wells up his face red as the blood boils Signal the Corsairs Starz and go find out if it’s a fight His Royal tail wants and if I should hang Zenkayaker bones from my furthest yardarm fore the gulls to pick at. Starz grins evily as he signals the Corsair closest the Glory, shouting orders as he swings out to meet her he lands on her aftdeck as they peal away to larboard…….
Beating toward the flotilla of British ships the Corsair renamed Wind-chime under the command of Captain Tobar readies her for all out skirmish, broadside and hightailed runaway, Tobar bellows,,, ALL HANDS ON DECK READY BATTLE STATIONS BUT DO NOT RUN OUT THE GUNS, LOBSTERS TO THE FORE DECK, MIDSHIPMAN READY THE YARD SPINNAKERS! Tobar half turns to Starz,,, Starz I hope this is not a fight we are looking at in the teeth of His Royal Majesties guns! Starz looks up toward the enemy ships at the white flag on the Moken and he fills his pistols with fresh powder and balls,,,, I too hope this is a venture and not a sneak attack, Zenkayaker is a slippery fish capable of dang most anything! ALL HANDS PREPARE TO COME ABOUT, BRING ME ALONG SIDE THE MOKEN FOR A PARLAY, BE AT THE READY TO RUN! Wind-chime swings around the Moken’s stern quarter to the larboard as Moken luffs sails allowing ’chime to pull closer as they Parlay,,,, ZENKAYAKER AS I LIVE AND BREATH, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND AND CHANGED SIDES? NOW SEE HERE STARZ I WILL ONLY DO THAT IF IT IS TO MY ADVANTAGE SIR AND I ANGER AT THOSE WORDS BUT I AM HERE FOR A TRUCE AND AN OFFER FROM HIS MAJESTIES FLOTILA, THE ADMIRAL HAS INTEL AND WISHES TO MEET WITH JOLLY SIR WILL YOU COME ABOARD AND FLY YOUR PENNANT FROM THE ADMIRALS FLAG SHIP? DO WHAT AND BECOME HIS PRISONER? NO IN A WAY HE IS MY PRISONER AND HIS FLOTILLA IS MY ESCORT! Of all the stars in the heavens above,,,, Stars grabs a line and turns to Tobar,,,,, Swing me aboard and if you hear my pistol shot giver a broadside and run for the fleet,,, Starz swings onto the afterdeck of the Moken as the ’chime turns away to station,,,,, After a brief time Starz himself runs up the pennant and hoists the colors of the cove as ’chime and Moken stear for the fleet,,,,,,,
Upon reaching the Glory, both ships shorten sail and a launch is lowered from the Moken. Jolly sees Starz on the bow with Zenkayaker just behind, and a what the heck Royal Navy Admiral astern as they row toward the Glory. Stiff jawed and red as fire Jolly meets Starz amidships at the gangway,,,,, What in the world do you think you are doing Starz? as ZenKayaker and the Admiral clear the gunnel starz whispers in Jolly’s ear ”Just hear them out sir, it all makes sence!” Permission to come aboard Captain Jolly sir,,,, The Admiral at his right hand,,,Jolly says in a rising voice like a question Permission granted? The crew is all groweling like mad dogs as Zenkayaker motions to the aft of the ship Shall we ajorn to the conference room Captain Jolly sir? as a cabinboy apears with an armload of charts and papers Ofcourse, let us go and converse,,,,,
Jolly looks apprehensive as he makes his way below decks to the Captain’s mess and though not armed he looks sternly at Zenkayaker as he graciously leads the Admiral below. Starz follows as he whispers commands to the deckwatch,”if they twitch shootem” and below after the honored party he goes. The deck watch positions themselves causally within reach of all manor of mayhem, grenades, swords, riffles, fire chests with smoldering canon wicks and below decks the gun crews stand by the pulleys to run out the canons at a single word of the Boatswain and the deck of the Moken would be shredded and the hull holed with 24 × 42 pound and 28 × 24 pound balls of lead and steal. At that range the helmsman began to sweat nervously fore the Glory would too be damaged if the magazine blew the Moken to smithereens! A 17th century version of the Mexican standoff with really big guns ensued as the conversation started below decks……all stiff lipped and nervous the Admiral offered the first olive branch Captain Jolly sir, I offer the most sincere congratulations from her Royal Majesty Elizabeth the 1st and has sent these letters of mark to you if you are willing to help us take care of a nasty individual bent on Spanish domination of the southern waters of the Americas. The ship now in your possession though looks nothing like what she once was formerly known as HMS Royal George was indeed against the Crown sir, and Admiral Richard Howe thought he was beyond the reaches of the Crown and became a renegade. Officially the HMS Royal George while under repairs at Portsmouth. Before taking part in another convoy to Gibraltar, she went in to Portsmouth for some last minute repairs: a water release valve (*) in her side needed replacing. As there was insufficient time to take her into dry dock, it was necessary to heel the ship by about seven degrees to allow the caulkers to install the valve below the waterline. Instead of achieving this by attaching ropes to the masts and pulling the ship over from another ship (the normal procedure; in the event of problems, cutting the ropes would restore the ship to her normal orientation), the commanding officer, Waghorn, decided to alter the position of the centre of gravity by moving the guns on one side out, and on the other side in towards the centerline of the ship.
When the work started, not only the crews of about 850, but also some hundreds of visitors, family, friends and trades people were on board. A couple of hours after work started, a carpenter decided that things were starting to go wrong. After the Officer of the Watch ignored his appeal, he went to the commander, who ordered the cannon to be restored to their normal positions. But it was now too late; the angle of heel was too large and water had begun to enter the ship; the ship rapidly turned on her side and sunk. The lucky ones below could escape through the gun ports: only 320 were saved. According to the Hampshire Chronicle about 1400 drowned, amongst them Rear-Admiral Richard Kempenfelt.
This of course is a farce to save face. As you well know the Moken was at the demise of Admiral Richard Howe, sent by the Crown to capture the ship at night and bring Admiral Richard Howe to justice however, a Captain Starz,,,, Starz looks up from his haze of British bull marlarky and rum when his name popped up un-expectantly….. and I have here a full pardon to deliver to him personally. Jolly motions to the crumpled Starz hovering over the bar and booze his magic bottle in his hand and Gracie on his shoulder choking on her rum….. Starz dumfounded steps forward, the scar sir, show me where Admiral Richard Howe cleaved you on your right shoulder. Starz removes his vest coat and reveals his ugly gray m***ed scar….. Then sir this is yours,,,,, The Admiral hands Starz a parchment with the royal seal and politely shakes his hand,,,,, Sir you are a credit to American ingenuity and the British fervor of battle to bring justice to the frontier. Starz eyes get THIS BIG and Jolly comments under his breath to Zenkayaker “there will be no living with that pompous *** after this watch him” as Zenkayaker smirks…. Jolly pipes up after this long winded explanation and British pomp. And of this problem you wish to be rid of Admiral and am I to take it that the Glory is to be my ship without question from the Royal Navy and her majesties blessing? The Admiral re-takes his seat It is sir to be your ship registered as the Privateer Glory of the Royal Navy stealth-fully registered and free, only us here and the Queen know of our alliance and mission here where you are to bring to justice a Captain Hernando Velazquez Jose Maria Jesus de Malacania Tabasco y Punctilio commanding The Spanish galleon Buitre Roto and his pirate fleet of buccaneers to the bottom of the Caribbean or the Atlantic we care not but his demise the Queen desires the most. Cabin boy the charts. The Admiral spreads out his version of the battle plan with his limited knowledge of the engineering wonders Starz has done to the fleet and Jolly corrects him on the performance of the ships in his fleet and they together revise the battle plan and Starz recognizes the Island of Barbados and goes to get his most recent charts with depth soundings of the arena of battle knowing this will be the mother of all battles not caring if no one ever knows of this covert confrontation. An accord struck and the freedom of all crews secured on all ships of the Pirates’ Cove as well as the freedom of the island and all its inhabitants the meeting is adjourned for celebratory cocktails made by Starz himself. The Admiral orders gin martini 3 olives if you please and is fascinated by the chilled gl*** and proper delivery in a proper gl*** no less of a crisp and sharp Gin Martini. Captain Starz, Zenkayaker was most forthcoming of your redesign of the Glory and her Corsairs indicating that you are a genius without match in leading edge materials and what “hydrodynamics” and what is this of “airfoils” is it to increase horsepower, a term I have never heard of in relation to turbulence generated by the drag of an “aqua foil” of a ships hull? I do not believe he fully understands the dynamics of your discovery and where did you find the one piece “Sequoia” masts of the Glory? These disciplines and science is absolutely un-heard of the world over, a prize of the America’s perhaps or is it the fact, so the stories go, that you have traveled to Davie Jones’s Locker only to return from Satin’s grasp to serve Jolly in some un-holy accord with that demon’s fiery home? Starz grins that evil grin that no one knows what is up his sleeve as he replies,,, He knows of the treachery of the Admiralty fore he himself was once an Admiral of Her Royal Navy and loved one (git your mind outta the gutter you *** fiends!) of the Queen. She once favored him as a scientist but now has declared war on him and all freedom of the British/American dream as the Roman Church has condemned him for using wine at his sacraments. Not trusting the back stabbing Admiralty he playfully says No sir, the stories are all bull and pomp, I am but a simple man addicted to the speed of Mercury and Glory is his winged boots sir that I took my design from thanks be to God. Iron and spit, hinges and sweat, on the backs of the Cove did we make an ocean bound wonder that Neptune and Poseidon both bless and freedom sir, sweet freedom God and Jolly themselves endorses. Starz turns toward a man he barely knows looking him in the eye with his one good eye says to the Admiral whose name he does, and no one there knows,,,, The designs Admiral are Jolly’s sir and no one but him can release me to tell you of the modifications. You know from Zenkayaker only what Jolly wishes to reveal but as for the “Sequoia” I grew them out of me ****! as Starz turns up the magic bottle of rum as the Admiral goes, “where did that come from and should I stand so close to this maggot ridden scoundrel who stinks of facieses and sweat mixed with rum and parrot poop dressed in rags and armed to the teeth. He notes that of all the persons there Starz is the only one armed, but not just with one weapon but many concealed, Starz noting this says, “not to worry, I am the chef and bartender on a ship of pirates sir someone has to defend you,,,,” but it is not him he plans to defend but Jolly, the last great hope he has seen against greed and gluttony who believes in freedom and freedom of religion….. The plot thickens as our story continues,,,,,,,,,
