Located less than an hour’s train ride from London, and accessible by rail, road or air, Southend-on-Sea is a water lover’s paradise.  Offering the cleanest beaches in the UK, with seven miles of oceanfront, there is truly something for everyone.  If you’re planning on attending the Olympics, Southend-on-Sea is located just beyond where the games will take place, and offer great shops, restaurants and casinos if you should find yourself with some downtime.  The Olympic torch will visit Southend-on-Sea on July 6th!

The place to be is the Southend Marine Activity Centre if you enjoy windsurfing, sailing, kayaking or jet skiing.  Ride your bike, or find the best fishing spot at the end of the longest pleasure pier in the world.
