Sings National Anthem for Launch Gallery Gadsden, Alabama; July 26, 2012 - Joey took his position as 11th boat out in the 2012 Professional Anglers Association (PAA) tournament held this week on Lake Neely Henry out of Leeds, Alabama. Joey had a good practice despite temperatures of 100 degrees with heat indexes near 110. He felt like the fishing was pretty good going into the tournament. Joey finished 13th on Neely Henry last year in the final PAA event of the 2011 season. That tournament was won by Steve Kennedy with just over 38 pounds for the three days.
As has become somewhat of a tradition over the last couple of years with the PAA Joey once again sang our National Anthem at tournament launch. “I really like doing that – it is an honor and I enjoy singing on and off the water!,” Joey mentioned that several of the other pros say that occasionally they hear him singing from some secluded spot on the water during tournament practice. “It keeps me going during long practice days. That and about a gallon of ice cold water!”
Weigh-in today will be covered with a live leader board at www.fishpaa.com beginning at 4:15 CST today. The top 15 from days one and two move on to the final competition day with final day weigh-in at the Bass Pro Shops in Leeds,Alabama.
