The “Tops”

Like a wedding band symbolizes a marriage, Ron Bidinost’s Sperry Top-Siders have been an emblem of his commitment to boating. When Ron and his wife purchased their first boat as newlyweds in 1985, Ron’s father gifted him with a brand-new pair of Sperrys (which Ron affectionately calls his “Tops”). “I wore the Tops for the first time when we launched the boat on Memorial Day weekend at the Jersey Shore,” Ron says. “We instantly became addicted to the boating lifestyle.”

Ron and his wife have since owned three Sea Rays, including most recently a 320 Sundancer. “I will proudly be wearing my Tops in whatever condition they get into on all of my boats for the rest of my life,” Ron says. The Bidinosts hope to buy a new Sea Ray this year—and now Ron will have brand-new Sperrys to sport onboard; by sharing his story with Sea Ray Living, one of this blog’s favorite boating magazines, Ron won a free pair.
You can win a free pair of Sperrys, too! Email your Sperry story and a photo to editor@searayliving.com.
