New Challenges in a New Class

We have been out in Murcia enjoying the sun for our winter training, but in a different boat. I have started a new challenge in the 49er FX, which has been a little different to what I am used to. The FX is very quick compared to the Elliott 6m and just to add to the challenge, I am now steering. There has been plenty of swimming which is a bit of a shock to the system!
Within the FX squad we have been doing a rotation system which has been a good opportunity to learn different skills from each other. It has been a full on few months with a lot of on the water time along with our on shore fitness programs. We have got our first event in Palma at the Princess Sofia regatta at the beginning of April, with a small warm up event a few weeks before. I can’t wait to try out the skiff racing.
