Daily summary: The Medal Round racing concluded ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyères with top American performance of 4th place in the Women’s 470 class by Annie Haeger and Briana Provancha. This event was the final regatta of the 2012-2013 ISAF Sailing World Cup series. Full results are posted on the event’s website.
Annie Haeger (East Troy, Wis.) and Briana Provancha (San Diego, Calif.) went into the medal race in 7th overall with the goal of standing on the podium. With two scores that are doubled and non-excludable to the overall points score, there was room to move up.
After a brief delay to the start of racing due to very light wind, the fleet headed out to the course under rainy skies. The first race started in light, shifty wind, which made it a challenge for the 10-boat fleet. Read the rest of this entry →



Daily Summary: On the final day of racing at ISAF Sailing World Cup Palma, US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider’s Anne Haeger and Briana Provancha captured a bronze medal in Women’s 470. Additional top-10 U.S. results include: Stuart McNay and David Hughes, 7th in Men’s 470; Sydney Bolger and Sarah Lihan, 9th in Women’s 470; Farrah Hall, 9th in Women’s RS:X; and Sarah Newberry and John Casey, 10th in Nacra 17.
